Xanax addiction is a rapidly growing problem in the United States. Taken as treatment for stress, anxiety and related problems,  Xanax can be a dangerous prescription drug whether it is abused or not. Xanax can be specifically risky when used in combination with alcohol; this can result in overdose leading to death.

Xanax addiction can seem to control the life of the addict. If professional help is not sought early, Xanax addiction can become a problem, not only for an individual, but for their family as well, in terms of security, happiness and comfort.  The addiction turns out to be the sole activity and area of concern for the individual.
